Product Description

A Rare Fusion of Tian Jian and Fu Brick Traditions

Pressed in 2021 using 3-year aged Tian Jian tea material, this exceptional brick is a unique innovation from the historic Bai Sha Xi Tea Factory in Anhua County, Hunan. Established in 1940, Bai Sha Xi is China’s earliest producer of Hei Cha (dark tea) and the pioneer of Fu Brick teas with Golden Flowers, first developed in 1953.

What makes this tea extraordinary is its fusion of two traditions: finished Tian Jian tea, typically darker and richly fermented, is further processed in the style of Fu Brick, encouraging the growth of golden flowers (Eurotium Cristatum). The result is a Tian Fu brick where the golden flowers take on an unusual orange-brown hue, transformed by the darker Tian Jian base.

The flavor is as distinctive as its appearance, which is malty and sweet with a lingering dried fruit finish. Smooth, warming, and complex, this tea represents both heritage and innovation within the world of Hei Cha.

Why It’s Special

  • Historic Legacy: Produced by Bai Sha Xi, China’s oldest and most renowned Hei Cha factory (est. 1940).
  • Golden Flowers: Cultivated in the brick, the unique orange brown “golden flowers” contribute to the tea’s aroma, sweetness, and smooth texture.
  • Innovative Craftsmanship: Combines the depth of Tian Jian tea with the traditional Fu Brick process, creating a rare and unusual style.
  • Aged Material: Made with 3-year aged Tian Jian, adding maturity and richness to the flavor profile.
  • Authorized Source: Tao Tea Leaf is the official distributor of Bai Sha Xi in Canada and the United States. The photo shows one of our shipments freshly arrived in our container, with each case carefully packed with authentic Bai Sha Xi Hei Cha.
