Wild Cliffside Fu Brick Tea with Golden Flowers
This unique Fu Zhuan Hei Cha comes from the spring 2018 harvest in the wilds of Anhua County, Hunan Province. The name Ya Pan Ye Fang (崖畔野放), meaning “wild on the cliff,” perfectly describes the rugged terrain of the Yun Tai mountains, where tea trees grow on steep, rocky slopes. The challenging conditions produce leaves of remarkable character, though harvesting them requires great skill and effort.
Expertly processed and pressed, this tea is a blend of grade 1–3 leaves, resulting in a balanced and complex flavor. The brick flourishes with golden flowers (Eurotium cristatum), the hallmark of high-quality Fu Zhuan, prized for both aroma and smoothness.
In the cup, this tea is deeply layered and full of character:
If pushed with longer steeps, a light bitterness emerges, quickly balanced by natural sweetness. The cha qi (energy) is present but not overpowering, offering a steady and grounding experience.
Produced by Zhong Cha (China Tea Co., Hunan) — founded in 1949 as China’s first national tea company — this Fu Zhuan continues a legacy of excellence in Chinese dark tea craftsmanship.
